America needs Rhode Island to play a role in building international trade, Deputy U.S. Trade Representative Demetrios Marantis, the luncheon keynote speaker for World Trade Day, tells the audience. He said that, historically, Rhode Island led the country in world trade. As the Providence Business News reported: "'America needs the Rhode Island genius today,' Marantis said, pointing to the state's companies that export know-how around the globe."
