Bryant prof’s data confirms claim on arming campus police

An article published by the Providence Journal turned to research conducted by Shirley Wilson, associate professor of management, to confirm the fact that Rhode Island is the only state where legislation specifically restricts campus police from carrying firearms. Wilson and her husband, Lt. Charles P. Wilson, a former police chief in Ohio and now the third-shift patrol supervisor at the campus police department at Rhode Island College, have for the past 15 years conducted research on general attitudes toward campus law enforcement and opposition to arming campus law enforcement.
