A team from Bryant University is heading to PwC's national xTAX finals Jan. 26-27 in Washington, D.C. There, the Bryant team will compete against teams from Binghamton University, Brigham Young University, University of South Carolina and University of Virginia.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - For the second consecutive year, a team of Bryant accounting majors is one of five teams from around the country heading to Washington, D.C., in January to compete in the national finals of xTAX, a taxation case competition that is part of the annual xTREME Games sponsored by PwC.
On Jan. 26-27, 2012, the Bryant team - Jeffrey Dorosh '14 of Naugatuck, Conn., Victoria Frazier '14 of Holden, Mass., Anthony Mahn '13 of Salem, N.H., Sagar Parmar '14 of Cheshire, Conn., and Randa Rugangazi '13 of Kigali, Rwanda - will go head to head against teams from Binghamton University, Brigham Young University, University of South Carolina and University of Virginia. An award-winning case study developed by two Bryant University management professors helps students explore this scenario and three others in order to learn about supply chain management and operations management.

Bryant University President Ron Machtley will receive the Rhode Island State Merit Award, which honors innovative work, from the New England Board of Higher Education. The award presentation will be made in Boston next spring.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - For the fourth time in five years, Bryant University's Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization (CEO) has been named the best chapter in the country. The announcement was made Oct. 29 at the CEO national convention in Fort Worth, Texas.
The award to Bryant recognizes the outstanding tools, workshops, guest speakers and hands-on learning activities the chapter has sponsored in the past year. "Moreover, the club has nurtured and supported young entrepreneurs who have actually launched businesses while here on campus," said Michael A. Roberto, Trustee Professor of Management, who with M. Cary Collins, Trustee Professor of Entrepreneurship, advises the club.

The University's dragon dance team placed third in international competition held in Shanghai. This news clip from Shanghai TV includes an interview with alumnus Christopher Neale '10, who competed with the Bryant team.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - U.S. News & World Report has ranked Bryant University among the region's top 20 universities, coming in at No. 16 in the Regional Universities (North) category.
This is second consecutive year Bryant has ranked 16th and is the seventh consecutive year of being ranked among the top 20 schools in its category.
"Bryant's innovative, globally-focused education provides the training and insight our students seek in order to be successful and active citizens of the world," said José-Marie Griffiths, vice president for academic affairs. "This ranking - along with other designations that point to Bryant's excellence - affirms the quality of the Bryant experience."

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Bryant University has been named one of the country's Military Friendly Schools for 2012.
The list, published by G.I. Jobs, a magazine for military personnel transitioning into civilian life, honors 1,518 colleges, universities and trade schools for the efforts they make to recruit students with military experience by offering scholarships and discounts, military credit and support services.
