State making progress, but still has a way to go to cut export gap

May 27th, 2012 | Providence Journal

Ray Fogarty, director of the Chafee Center for International Business, discusses Rhode Island's export gap with the Providence Journal. He explained that "some states' export totals get a huge boost from one or two big manufacturers, which Rhode Island doesn't have" and that "Rhode Island is a state of small businesses that sell components used in products made by bigger companies in other states, which then get credit for the export."
