Campus-wide drill on Code 1 emergency conducted this morning

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - At 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28, Bryant University conducted a drill for a Code 1 emergency. All students, faculty and staff participated in the simulation, which lasted for approximately 30 minutes.
Such drills are mandated by the Higher Education Organization Act of 2008.
Code 1 emergencies have the potential to present an immediate threat to the health or safety of the Bryant community. They include fires, chemical spills, hostage situations, violent persons and severe weather.
The drill was announced campus-wide through IP phones, PA systems, Blackboard Connect messages and through the campus computer network.
Results of the drill are being gathered and will be evaluated by the President's cabinet.
